Why can't I rename my daqmx device

I built a runtime installer from labview and then even downloaded daqmx from your website. In max I don't have the ability to rename my PCI-6110 or open up the instrument panels? I get a serial number instead of dev 1 and my program won't work as a result. Why is this? I selected every daqmx component possible. Is there something else I'm missing?

this is just a WAG, but does the device need a separate driver to be installed?

I doubt it. It didn't need one when I used 2009 SP1.

Try deleting it from MAX and then adding it again.

Or resetting your MAX configuration and then rebooting.

Lastly, dry reinstalling MAX.

Since so many pieces of software depend on MAX, you'll probably have to reinstall other NI software if you go this route.
