I am not sure the cause of the error however there are a couple of things you can try. Does this happen when ever you call the New Report VI with any report type?

Try to Open up the Vi and hit ctrl-shift-Run Arrow. This fixes a lot of the Report generation errors. Another thing to look at is this Patch.
