Why does the connector pane show different connector for lvclass?

What's the special deal with the top left & right connectors?

I have other lvclasses, but they do not have the X-shaped dots..

Those are connections marked as Dynamic Dispatch (have a look at where you would set it to be required). A DD input means that this is a VI which is designed to be overridden dynamically at run-time based on the type of class actually present on the wire.
