Will Labview 5.0.1 work on Windows 2000?

My PC has been upgraded to Windows 2000 and I wanted to check if this version of Labview (5.0.1) will still work correctly.

Well I have run it a few times here. LabVIEW itself certainly does work
but I have removed 5.0.1 in the meantime. Also notice that there might
be a few minor details about trying to do that which could be annoying
especially during editing. We are talking about a software which was
released before Win98 was released so to expect everything run smoothly
would be like expecting NI to forspell you your future.

As to the runtime compatibility I would certainly expect quite some
problems with hardware drivers like NI-DAQ and such. NI-DAQ is very
complex and interacts with the OS on many levels so adjustement to new
OS
versions is usually necessary. The NI-DAQ which comes with you
LabVIEW 5.0.1 most probably won't even install cleanly on W2000. And the
newest NI-DAQ 7.0 will not be compatible with your LabVIEW version.

I currently have LabVIEW 5.0.1f1 installed on Windows 2000.

If you install or update this version of LV on Windows 2000/XP, you will see the message 'Wrong OS', but if you click OK to this the software installs correctly. This is described here:

I didn't see any errors in the NI-DAQ installation, but I'm not using any DAQ devices so I can't say if you will have problems here. I have been using serial comms (having upgraded NI-VISA to 3.0.1) and this seems to work fine. There's a NI-DAQ version compatibility chart here:
