Free full versions of LabView for lockdown

The LabView Community Edition and LabView NXG Community Edition do not use watermarks

but require an account at NI.com which allows the company to highlight any commercial use.

Linux and Mac versions of the Community Editions are in development.

Short summary: Yes it is thought about and worked on, but don't hold your breath for it. It will be announced when it is ready for release but there is no date yet when that will be!

I was wondering if there was any news yet of Mac/Linux versions of the LabVIEW Community Edition? Are they planned at some point?

Just a small clarification here in regards to the original title. The work mentioned in the earlier thread is for LabVIEW Community Edition for Mac and Linux. The main problem here is licensing, as these platforms do not have a license manager like on Windows. Linx is an extra issue but not a real hurdle.

LabVIEW NXG however is an entirely different story. This currently only runs under Windows 64-bit and the NXG developers have a myriad of other fish to fry before they might look at that. My current feeling is that other platforms might never happen.

LabView CE (no NXG) would be just fine; I do most of my doin's under Linux, and would REALLY like to start playing with LabView...
