Will the current version of LabVIEW work on Windows 2000 Server?

Hi,

I am an engineering student working on an integration project for a small analytical chemistry company.

I plan to use LabVIEW to help interface a few autosamplers and machines but the only operating system available for use on a main computer is Windows 2000 Server.

I was wondering if there might be any issues trying to run LabVIEW on that machine, given that the OS is not listed as supported under the system requirements.

NI's website is pretty clear about this....

"As of August 2010, new LabVIEW releases will no longer support Windows 2000 or Mac OS X 10.4"

You might want to try to get your hands on a copy of LabVIEW 2009, as that version was the last to support Win2000 platforms.  Maybe someone at NI can help you obtain a copy of LV2009, if you already have a license purchased for LV2010 (current version).

Also if you already have a copy of LV2010, you may want to try it anyway.  Sometimes "not supported" really means "not tested and verified".  Doesn't necessarily mean it will crash or misbehave.

The latest version which is compatible with "Windows 2000" is LabVIEW 2009.
