Dear all,
This is a fatal problem for me. At first, i wrote a test program and tried to write the data to Excel. All the performance is right except system restarted when i tryed to write to excel, but it occured only once. So i don't pay more attention to it. After i make the .exe file, the same situation repeated. i came to know it is not a coincidence. i have search the forum but no reletive information was found. Please help me. Great thanks.
My computer situation is:

Can you attach a simplified version of your VI where the problem still exists?

Sorry, i can not understand what you mean. The test procedure is OK, no warning, no error, I think. But the process "writting to excel"......

Johan,

If you run a subset of your test program that it's write data to excel file,

Will the computer still restart?

The problem only happened 2 times. Actually, i have use the function "writing to excel" for a long period, but only malfunctioned only two.

so i can not identify whether it is the Windows Problem.

Could it be that you're corrupting memory somewhere with a memory leak, inproper DLL calls or so on?  This can often lead to instable and irreproducible results.  While trying to get some DLL work off the ground, I've also managed to force windows reboots, something which is otherwise really difficult to do with LabVIEW.

It could be that your Excel call is triggering the problem, but that the cause is somewhere else.

On a side note, you're using ActiveX to interface with Excel I presume?

Hope this helps

Shane.

I don't think we can be of much help unless we get to see the diagram -- c'mon, show us the money diagram!  Smiley Wink

Actually no diagram at all.

It restarts automatically.

???

What does automatic restart have to do with the diagram of the VI?

I'm sorry, I don't understand, can you be more precise?

Shane.
