Writing to a cell in an existing Excel file without prompt of overwriting

I know this acronym. In previous topic in this forum, I found a member recommended using the ADO instead of ActiveX, since it is pretty fast. However, I failed to get more instructive resources to gain the basic info needed to communicate with Excel.

So, you can correct my misunderstanding, if found.

I don't know if it is the same thing or different because of being novice at Labview external communications, so I just inquired.
