X axis values on the chart

Hi,

I have Labview 2015.

Q1:

How can I add those values on X-axis shown on the picture Pict1 in red? (those red values I have added in MS paint to show you what I need to get) I can not find it in the chart properties.

Q2:

Is there any way to show a line at any value (for example the temperature oscillates around 40°C so to see where is the 40°C). Currently I have sorted it the way, that temperature value and constant  value are "Bundled". It is better as nothing. It works, but if the autoscale if off the (red) constant line follows temperature line (white). It would be nicer to have red line till en of the chart. as shown on the picture Pict2.

Q3: How can I find (search) the history of my question here on the community forum? I do not see any button or link for it.

Thanks you very much for help.

Hi romiadam,

1 - If you right click on your graph and choose X Scale > Style you'll see some options. Probably one of them fits your requirements better than the one you have now. If you get lots of values but they're all the same, you can also check the "Display Format" tab on the Properties dialog and ensure that you have sufficient precision in your display format.

You can do the same programmatically if you need to, using similarly named properties.

2 - Yes, you can use a Cursor. They can be added programmatically or via the GUI on the front panel. You'll probably want to change the position to be something like (-1, 40) or something off the X scale to prevent the point appearing (because you can't not have a marker, except by having a space) and then setting the style to be only a horizontal line (although if the vertical line location is offscreen, it probably matters less...).

3 - I thought you could, but I can't find a way now. So maybe, maybe not. I'll look some more...

1) It's not quite the answer, but a step in the right direction. Right-click on the graph and go to the scales tab. Click on the box shown below to change the style of the scale (I think the setting shown below would be what you are looking for). Let us know if that solves your problem. Getting those exact numbers would be slightly more difficult but I suspect that this is the answer that you were after.

2) .....just seen cbutcher has replied whilst I was typing. Cursors are a good way.. you could overlay a picture if you were desperate, or possibly play around with using a chart and incrementally fill your data plot. This wouldn't be great though.

The box in the lower red circle here is the same one controlled by the "X Scale > Style" option in the front panel right click menu (or the Property Nodes).

Although from the Properties window (as shown) you can probably reduce the number of clicks if you want to do the same for the Y scale, since there's a dropdown for the scale of choice at the top (here showing "Time (X-Axis)" ).

I did not realized, that I can click on that window... 😄 . The values are on the X axis, what is perfect, as it is. That way it is enough. See Pict3.

The cursor is a bit more complicated for me. I thought it will be only one click somewhere in the chart properties on Tick box and setup the value where I wish to have it. But it is not so simple (for me).

Moreover I have found this article

https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA00Z0000019KuaSAE&l=en-IE&nisrc=LV-2015

.....No, cursors are unavailable in Waveform Charts.......

So, I am happy with that line as it is now even thou it does not looks professional.

Thank you all very much for help.
