Hi,

I tried with your example to get the "TraceSessionDump/TraceList/Method_Enter/Parameter/Element" field from the attached xml file but couldn't succeed, although there was no error.

Could you help me on that?

One has to rename the attached file to XML

Thanks in advance

Hi Y3G,

Take a look at some of these links, they should help you learn how to extract data from your XML file.

Parsing XML Files in LabVIEW

http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361H-01/lvconcepts/parsing_xml_files_in_lv/

How to extract data from an arbitrary xml file and export in a nice csv file?

http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/how-to-extract-data-from-an-arbitrary-xml-file-and-export-in-a/td-p/...

If these don't help you solve your issue please tell me more about whats going on. You said you did not get an error but are you able to extract any data from the file? What are you having problems with?

Hello Ray,

I'm trying to design a similar VI, but  no luck. Is it possible that I could get a copy of your VI that's compatible with LabVIEW 8.6?

Thanks,

Hello Jose

To use the attached vi, download the xml file from the sunnywebbox (it will come down in a zipped format). Let the vi know where the file resides, and then run the via. The vi will open up the xml file and display all data values.

If youy have any questions regarding details let me know.

Hello,

Thanks for the files; however, I still can't seem to open them. LabVIEW tells me that they are in LV 10 format.

Hey Ray,

I tried to use the VI's you send me, but I don't have the "Get all Matched Nodes" VI. This labview library is not available for LV 8.6. I'm trying to find a way to do it on 8.6, but so far no luck. Do does function let you see the block diagram within it?
