Hello,
I am trying to create my first fpga project. However when I am tried to compile a vi I got an error “Error starting compile step: make sure a compatible version of xilinx tools is installed at the location specified in the labview fpga installer”. Can somebody help overcome the problem? I am using a cRIO 9014 with a cRIO 9073 chassis
Thanks in advance

What version of LabVIEW are you using? There are a few things we can do to verify your compiler is configured correctly. Navigate to Start » Programs » National Instruments » LabVIEW x.x » LabVIEW FPGA Utilities » Compile Server.
Click configure when it launches.
If you are using LabVIEW 8.5 the window looks like this:
If you are using 8.6, it should look like this:
If not, correct it and see if that fixes the issue.
If the problem persists, you might have an install corruption issue. Remove and reinstall LabVIEW FPGA module, the Xilinx compile server, and reinstall NI RIO. Hopefully that fixes the issue.

Good Morning,
Thanks you for your response. I use LabVIEW 8.6. I have already checked the paths and everything is in order. Thus, I probably have to proceed with the second suggestion, reistallation.

The images should be good. I don't have any other quick way to rehost them either.
Basically 8.5 says
Compiler Path: C:\NIFPGA85\Xilinx
Root Build Directory: C:\NIFPGA85\srvrTmp
Port: 96
Network Timeout (ms): 10000
8.6 Says:
Root build directory: C:\NIFPGA86\srvrTmp
Port: 96
network timeout: 10000
