I have accidentally overwritten ex_subFileRead.vi and now my read measurment file vi's don't work. Does anyone have a copy of this and can tell me where to put it?

Try doing a repair on your LabVIEW installation.
You can also try looking through the LabVIEW CDs to find it. It's probably inside a CAB file.
