arduino motor shield

Hi everyone,

I currently trying to run a stepper motor with Labview. So far I have tried a whole bunch of different methods to do this and they haven't worked yet. This is mainly because the stepper motor needs 1A of current to generate enough Torque to have a significant effect and most interface devices provide a maximum of 40mA output current. Anyway, I was referred to using Arduino's not too long ago because they are capable of producing the output current and voltage I need to run my motor. I downloaded and installed all Arduino software and the Arduino interface for Labview. However, to get the amperage I need I need to use the Arduino Motor shield. However, when I try to run the example stepper motor VI I get an unknown error with no description. Upon further research I cannot seen to locate any information on using the Arduino Motor shield with Labview, and I'm now wondering is Labview only compatible with the base Arduino board (UNO, MEGA, etc.) or is it compatible with all arduino shields as well. Also if anyone could point me in the right direction as to documention/examples/other people's questions that are similar that would be very helpful as well

Thank you for any insight you may have to my problem.

Hi Joe_Szalko,

Thanks for submitting your question, you can check the link for the compatibility with Arduino; and also I think it would be better if you submit the Arduino questions to the correct support forum
