Hello,
I have installed NI Developer Suite 2011.
I have troubles when I'm using MAX software.
The ASRL numbers for serial ports automatically increase when refresh (F5) is done. Example : at starting, ASRL3::INSTR is associated with COM1 serial port, but after refresh, ASRL4::INSTR is now associated, and after refresh again, ASRL5::INSTR, ... and so on
Thanks for a fast and easy solution 😉
Vincent

I don't mean to be an asrl, but preemptively asking for a fast and easy solution is, well, presumptuous. We are not obsequious drones ready to pounce at your bidding.
The only time the increasing ASRL number has happened to me was when I used a Virtual com port - a USB to Com Port device. Is this a possibility?

Speak for yourself. What do you think I do all day long?

But to get back to the original question, there is another thread talking about the same issue here.
Hope this helps,
Christian

To rush :
Do you know what a smiley means? I know that the response could not be as fast as expected.
about the topic : no, it's not a virtual COM port.
