building exe for windows xp using labview 2015 sp1 in windows 10

Hello

I am trying to build an application to be installed in windows xp sp1 using labview 2015 sp1 since it stills support windows xp.

when I build the exe and the installer I found that it uses automatically LV runtime engine 2015 sp1 which is not compatible with windows xp, so when I try to install the application in windows xp it gives me the error 998 fail to lad the lvrt.dll.

so I have uninstalled LV runtime engine 2015 sp1, and installed instead the 2015 version.

but the error presists.

can anyone please tell me what are the considiration to took when building a 32 bit app for windows xp 32 using windows 10 64 bit system but labview 2015 sp1 is 32 bit;

thank you

This 2015 RTE file requires XP3 on a win XP machine ->>    http://www.ni.com/download/labview-run-time-engine-2015/5507/en/

Read the following in regards to applications for XP.  Basically, the application INI file will restrict the operating system to require Win 7 as the minimum operating system and needs to be edited.

Hello Proland,

thank you for your reply, yes my system is sp3 i was mistaken, but the change in the ini file is actually not going to make run, because even if you are capable of installing it you will not be able to run because it was not made for xp sp3, that was the case with me.

after that I figured out that using labview 2015 sp1 you can generate application for windows xp however you have to make sure that your mdf is not updated with a 2016 product otherwise even labview 2015 sp1 will not be able to generate application for xp, for my case I had to resete the system to get rid of the update.

regarding my target application in xp, I think I have figured what is the problem, because of using the ini change minimum version thing i was able to unstall LVRT engine 2015 sp1 which does not support xp that's why i had the error. but even when I have installed the Runtime engine 2015 that supports xp it did not work because there were still parts of the RT sp1 left.

I will try today to clean all the residus of the first runtime and install the 2015 runtime, I think it should work like this,

I will get back to you if this works in case some one had the same issue;

thank you
