calculate time in while loop

Hi ,

       In one of my application i have to wait for some time to get an output and same time maintain a time out. How to calculate time over and come out of while loop. i have 8.5 Labview can somebody send me a small ex.

Use Get Date Time ms, convert the Timestamp to double datatype,

Put two of these on your block diagram, one inside and one outside your While loop.

Use the maths functions to add a timeout delay to check for each loop.

(Use structures or make it a subVI to control when the time is called).

 

I'm going to leave you to work out the units the time is measure in when it is converted from timestamp to DBL datatype.

Ahh - I misunderstood the orignal Question. I thought what was required was a While loop that would execute for until complete, or it timed out (failed to complete operation).

I see the Broken Arrow has nuked the problem.
