calling a jpeg compression dll

I use webcam images in a LabVIEW based equivalent of NetMeeting to allow communication between people in our laboratory. I currently compress my images by calling an LZW dll, but would prefer to use JPEG as lossy compression creates smaller data packet sizes. Is it possible to use a Windows-standard DLL to convert my image data to JPEG format?
(I have a little experience calling DLLs but almost none in coding C, and the only jpeg-based DLLs that I am aware of are jpeg1x32.dll and jpeg2x32.dll)

Riggy,

LV has jpeg compression VI's in the picture tools (Graphic & Sound> Graphics
Formats).

I don't think windows has standard compression VI's for this, I think it's
done with 'codecs'. Anyway, I'd prefere the standard LV VI's.

Regards,

Wiebe.

Wiebe,

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately the VIs you talk of read and write images to and from files, and cannot be used to convert an image directly to jpeg without streaming it to a file.
I am in need of a method to convert my VI images to jpeg format for networking via TCP, without saving them to file at all.
I have since found some VIs on this discussion forum that can do this for me, for anyone interested, search for:
"Using IMAQ Grab to Send Compressed JPEG Images Over TCP/IP"

Thanks everyone,

Riggy
