Thank you for posting on the National Instruments discussion forums.

I would like to ask you for more information about where to find the specific example mentioned in your post. I looked through the examples directory for LabVIEW 5.1 and was not able to find any VI titled INSTRUMENT I/O.

Would it be possible for you to reply with the path and filename of the example in question?

Thank you, and have a great day!

Dear Scott Yellig,
Thank you so much for the reply and for your query i would like to inform you that i was referring to the INSTRUMENTS I/O example that comes with LABVIEW 5.1 ( you can go there by starting the LABVIEW then move on to Examples and there you will find INSTRUMENT I/O , probably among the last 5 in the list).
We are actually threee students (samura = saleem, munib, rauf) having some problems in understanding the addition of sub vi's to a VI and how to relate them. We are new to LABVIEW and want to explore it to full potential as we have found it to be the best tool of its kind in the market.

Once again thanking you for the reply and interest you shown.
Regards,
Samura

Samura,

After running LabVIEW 5.1 I found in the Search Examples help file a link titled Instrument I/O. Under there I see several examples, one of which contains many attribute nodes. It is difficult for me to tell you pecifically what the purpose of each and every attribute node in this forum.

Generally, attribute nodes in LabVIEW 5.1 are used to set the properties of the front panel controls and indicators. The properties available in an attribute node are very similar to the properties made available by right clicking on a particular front panel control or indicator.

If you have a question about a specific attribute node, I would like to ask you to post in a new thread with a detailed description of the attribute node.

Thank you, and have a great day
