closing com port on usb hub

I have six usb devices connected to a usb hub and they are using COM4-COM9. When I try to close all six ports at the end, Labview locks up most of the time. I removed the usb hub and connected it to usb devices directly to the computer and Labview does not lockup. Sometimes I can disconnect the usb cable from the hub and that will allow Labview to close other times I need to close Labview through the task manager.

Your USB hub probably isn't completely up to the USB specification.  That's why it works when you are connected directly to the computer and not through the hub.
