What device? What output - analog or digital? Can you set it the test panels in MAX? What configuration - single ended or differential? How are you measuring the output?

1. If you ground the input, does it go to 0?
2. When you remove the ground does it immediately pop back up to the voltage you observed, or does it drift up slowly?

If it goes to zero when grounded and drifts up when the ground is removed, there is probably nothing wrong. Analog input are high impedence inputs and the input value will drift if unterminated. This is why you should always ground unused analog inputs.

im using NI USB-6009. connect ground and AI0 with voltage sensor, but even if i didnt connect it, it will still have 1.380volt. i know that analog input wont have voltage. but it seems like its chargering into the daq. if i were to try using AI0 and AI4, how to i do the connection inside my block diagram? Because i really want to get rid of the voltage.

What do you mean by "ground with a voltage sensor"?  What voltage sensor?

If you connect a plain copper wire bvetwen AI0 and ground, what does the DAQ device read?
