That's good, but that seems to be from 2007 and LV8.2. It looks like there are problems within LV2009 again where that CAR should be reactivated or a new one taken.

Thanks for keeping on the ball again! (mumbling ahead ingnore; Ben has an NI-Bat-phone and I had to wait two weeks for my NI rep to drop off LabVIEW media for 7.1-8.5 It just ain't fair

Thanks for the help, everyone. I didn't want to use a hex display because that's not particularly intuitive for the user (what's 0A seconds?).
But, it's all moot. I had a big miscommunication with the firmware guy, so simply typecasting to a hex string works. Sorry to waste your time.

FYI
The grayed out Hexadecimal Option in LabVIEW 2009 has been reported to R&D (CAR #198232) for further investigation.
As stated before Hex display work in other version of LabVIEW if you select a valid integer data type.
