NI Please have an App engineer look inot the behaviour of the properties screen for the Knob.

And please add to the attached list that when you show the digitial display, it does not let us set the display format as Hex (even after maining it a U8).

That's good, but that seems to be from 2007 and LV8.2.  It looks like there are problems within LV2009 again where that CAR should be reactivated or a new one taken.

Ben

Thanks for keeping on the ball again!  (mumbling ahead ingnore; Ben has an NI-Bat-phone and I had to wait two weeks for my NI rep to drop off LabVIEW media for 7.1-8.5 It just ain't fair Smiley Sad )

Thanks for the help, everyone. I didn't want to use a hex display because that's not particularly intuitive for the user (what's 0A seconds?).

But, it's all moot. I had a big miscommunication with the firmware guy, so simply typecasting to a hex string works. Sorry to waste your time.

FYI

The grayed out Hexadecimal Option in LabVIEW 2009 has been reported to R&D (CAR #198232) for further investigation.

As stated before Hex display work in other version of LabVIEW if you select a valid integer data type.
