driver for 70842A

Unless Smartest is written in LabVIEW, then you cannot use LabVIEW drivers directly. You will have to communicate with the instruments via whatever interface Smartest provides or interface to a LabVIEW VI that calls the drivers. I have no idea what kind of provision Smartest has for calling exteranl code and there is no way for me to even guess since you still haven't provided a link. This little snippet from the manual is not enough. LabVIEW has an ActiveX interface that other programs can call. You can also create an exe or dll from LabVIEW VIs. You should be asking questions about Smartest and external programs to the vendor of Smartest.

Hello,
I did try to look for some websites about smartest but i couldn't find anything. smartest is a software specified for a tester called 93000 SOC. Anyway i will sum up Smartest for you later. But the problem is that ActiveX is in WIndown and Smartest is in Lunix so that kind of thing make me block now.
My tutor will ask the provider about it today so I will write to you later about it and about Smartest .
thanks  alot.

Hi , Sorry that i didn't update my project. Up to now , i know there is a driver in Smartest that I can work with it. I will see how Smartest react with that driver and after that I will see wheter Smartest can do the same with instruments. Or perhaps there is a library of Smartest can control GPIB interface and Labview can contact with GPIB interface, so 2 sofwares have GPIB interface as a communicator , do you think that will be ok ???
thanks for your reply.
