dsc trace max time lv 8.2

Is there a max time or length that a trace can be written to using the dsc module??

 I have been logging data using shared variables with a deadband, and am running the program 24/7.  Do I need to using the database vis and save the trace and open a new one every so often, or can I just continue to save all the time using the shared variables automatic logging??

You should not run into any problems using the same trace for a single shared variable. The only limit that I know of for the time length of a trace is your hard drive space.
