Hello,
I am a newbie to LabVIEW. Can anyone tell me how to find if the DSC Module is installed or not. I am trying to connect labVIEW to CompactLogixL23E Controller through ethernet and during the Topic Configuration in LabVIEW 2010, I selected a New Proejct and when I right click on My Computer and select New , the drop down menu doesn't list I/O servers. When I checked into NI forums someone suggested that DSC Module is probably not installed. So is there a way to find out if it's installed or not. Please help me in this regard.
Thanks,
Sunil

The DSC module doesn't come for free... Saddly... And to see if you have it installed just go to the Tools menu, not far from the top you there should a DSC Module item with a few sub-items, if not, then it is not installed...
Hope this helps

It depends what the other device supports but ModBus is often a good solution, NI gives for free a ModBus library.
Hope this helps

Hello, What device are you trying to communicate to? Is this a PLC system?
To communicate to I/O devices often times you need the OPC server either from the manufacturer of your product or from National Instruments, the OPC server from NI is a very robust server. In the other hand. You will also need the DSC module or Data socket in order to communicate via OPC. Server Client is what we look for.
