dynamically register for events example

Solved!
Go to solution

I'm trying to work through the "Dynamically Register for Events.vi" example but I don't understand where the "Genereic VI Reference" icon (wired to "Mouse Move" on the first Register for Events VI) comes from.  I can't reproduce this in my VI.  Sorry if I'm missing something simple but I've been at this for a while now and want to understand what's going on.

Cheers

Sorry, found the answer: place refnum VI refnum control on the front panel and then change to constant.  If someone cares to let me know: why is this type of constant not accessible from the functions pallette?

You can also Right-click at the input "Mouse Move" ...Create ... Constant
