electrodes and transducers

I am planning on setting up a LabVIEW system that takes pH and pressure measurements. The sample rate will be one measurement per second and the system needs to be easily expandable. I have looked briefly at FieldPoint and SCXI. Anyone have any suggestions? I am fairly new at this.

Both techniques should work well. This big deciding factor will probibly be one of channel count vs cost--though signal conditioning issues might also become a factor. Do the sensors need any sort of special conditioning? If so, SCXI would definately be more flexible.

What kinds of sensors are you going to be using exactly?
How many channels of each?

Hi Mike,
We are going to be using micro-switch pressure transducers which need an excitation voltage of 10 volts. Initially we are going to have 8 of them. As for the pH electrodes all I know is that initially there will be 8 of those also. What specifics do I need to find out about the electrodes?

The sensor vendor should be able to tell you what sort of conditioning a given sensor needs. In the case of specialized tings like a PH meter, the vendor will probibly make a standalone signal conditioning box just for their probes.
