error 1073807346

Hi there,

I'm using LabVIEW 8.5 to communicate with Keithley 2400 via Agilent 82357A USB/GPIB interface. As soon as I run Keithley 24XX Read Single.vi (I simply downloaded the latest Keithley 24XX driver from ni.com), I immediately received error 1073807346.

I configured Agilent GPIB connectivity products in NI labVIEW, set agilent VISA to secondary VISA library, enable NIVISAtulip.dll, and enable the agilent libraries to work with NI 488.2 (I also downloaded NI-488.2 for windows 2000/XP from ni.com).

I launched Measurement and Automation Explorer 4.7.2f0 and checked my device under Devices and Interfaces-Miscellaneous VISA Resources.

Under NI-VISA Interactive Control (NI-VISA 5.0.1) written:

Unable to find resources using expression "?*"
Return status code: 0xBFFF003A
Status Name:  VI_ERROR_INV_SETUP

Under NI-488.2 Getting started wizard, I received the following error :

No GPIB Interfaces Found

I believe I am using the proper VISA resource string (GPIB0::24::INSTR). I also removed the checkmark from the Automatically close VISA sessions checkbox (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/A2561CDE98B66DD4862566510078264F).

Is there anything else I can do?

Please help me...

Thank you.

Hello,

It seems that the driver is having trouble associating this GPIB interface. Let's try unplugging the USB/GPIB and removing the device from MAX. Then re-connect the device and refresh MAX. Let me know how this goes.

Thanks,

Dear Anna,

Thank you for your response.

I already tried that, but it won't work.

Now, I'm trying to execute the SCPI commands through labview, and it works.

Thank you.

The NI-488.2 failure you had was pretty obvious. You aren't using an NI card. I believe the error in MAX was for the same reason. Lesson - if you are going to use LabVIEW, use an NI GPIB controller.
