error 1101 sometimes when reading Datasocket, default reader is everyhost

I am glad I could add some small value to the forum.

I am surprised to see this old posting revived after 4 years. The project I wrote this LabVIEW application for ended in April of 2008, and now my memory is a bit limited.

I do not believe that my problem was in the everyhost vs. localhost setting for the creator. I had three computers writing still images from video cameras into DataSockets on their local hard drives. The permissions for all three were set up the same way, but only one computer had this error, and not all the time.

If I remember correctly, I finally got rid of the error. These computers were all on a private network restricted to experimental data and operations, and so it was disconnected from the internet. The network supervisor was very protective of the limited bandwidth. I was eventually able to get permission to speed up my connection between my computers from 10 to 100 Base-T. I think I also updated the OS on all the machines with the latest patches. This required driving to different buildings in our sprawling lab and physically moving all the computers to a central building with access to the public network. (They hadn't been patched because patching was not simple on the private network, and they weren't exposed to internet security hazards.) It seemed to help to have them all running the same version of the OS, even though LabVIEW runs on many platforms and shouldn't be all that fussy.
