I have little/no experiencce with labview. but we have a sw made by a third party vendor (made couple of years ago) which im trying to get up and running.

when i run the sw i get the message:

possible reason:

Device identifier is invalid.

Device specified: cDAQ2"

i try to rename the 9188xt device in MAX, but seems im not allowed. see attached screenshot.

HI JanEgilGlaestad,

It seems the Log In is still available in your screenshot - are you logged in as an Admin when that was taken?

Have you tried configuring your cDAQ via the NI network browser? If you don't have this installed the check the below link:

Often a simple solution for this is to reset the MAX Database. This can easily be done by following the instructions in the article below:
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/2C7480E856987FFF862573AE005AB0D9?OpenDocument

Hopefully this will then allow you to rename your device. If not, we can follow some further troubleshooting steps.

Thanks. I think it was the resetting of DB that did the trick. Anyway its working.

I tried the solution above (running "Reset Configuration Data" ) but did not have success. Right clicking on cDAQ-9172 in MAX does nothing.
