Hi John,
I recommend trying to determine if software (the driver installation) or hardware is causing the error. Do you have another National Instruments card available to test in your PC? Can you try installing your PCI-4462 in a different slot inside the computer? Does a repair or reinstall of the driver fix the issue? Do you have another computer that you can install the card into? Do you see the same error on the second system? If the errors occur in only one PC, then I expect the problem is software or a problem with the PCI slot. If the issue occurs in multiple computers, the PCI-4462 is likely the cause.
It is possible that a file has been corrupted with the DAQmx driver. Hopefully a repair will fix the problem. If you cannot get the card to install and test without error on multiple systems, it is possible that your card has been damaged and will need repair. If this is the case, please visit ni.com/support to request support from an engineer.

Hi Jennifer,
I have had my PCI-4462 working in another computer.
I brought it back, deleted the drivers and did a repair.
I still get the same errors.
I am using 64 bit drivers here and 32 bit on the test computer.
Has there been a problem with 64 bit drivers under vista 64?
Do I need to delete Labview and max?

Hi John,
I have not heard of any issues. I have a few things that I want to check. Firstly, was this a clean install of the operating system or an upgrade from a previous operating system? Do you have any other DAQ boards or DSA cards from National Instruments to test in the computer? If not, do you have another PCI card to test to verify that your slot is working?
Try following the steps in this knowledge base to see if it helps: DAQmx Error Code -89130.
If you are still having difficulty let me know. I do not think that you will need to delete MAX or LabVIEW, the first step is to see if any of the above suggestions will enable you to run your DSA board inside a test panel in MAX.
Regards,
Jennifer O.

Hi John,
The NI-4462 has been tested in Vista 64 without problem. Do you have another Vista 64 machine available to you? or another DAQmx device (E-Series, M-Series, S-Series DAQ board) to test in your system? Since the board works in the other PC, I believe your National Instruments hardware is good. The issue may be the software install or perhaps the PC.
If you have another card, or Vista 64 computer we can specifically test that your driver install is good. Make sure that the driver you are using is NI-DAQmx 8.5. It may be a good idea to try once again to uninstall the driver and install from the copy available on the web. Download the driver and save to your hard drive and install from there. You can locate the driver here.
Could you please comment on your results from running through the steps in the KB linked in my second post, and also answer my questions from previous posts? It is difficult to continue troubleshooting with you without knowing your previous results.
Thanks,
Jennifer O.

Thanks Jennifer,
I will try to document my efforts better.

If you have another card, or Vista 64 computer we can specifically test that your driver install is good. Make sure that the driver you are using is NI-DAQmx 8.5. Drivers less than 8.5 will not start to install on Vista 64. It may be a good idea to try once again to uninstall the driver and install from the copy available on the web. Download the driver and save to your hard drive and install from there. You can locate the driver here. I uninstalled, downloaded and installed, I still get the same error in MAX.

The KB link was an uninstall, reinstall of the ADC. I had not done the uninstall until today. I cannot tell any difference. To make sure I got a good install I found the driver "nidsarkw.sys" and renamed it "nidsarkwjunk.sys" before I installed again. Do you have any open questions I have not answered?
Thanks,
John.
