Greetings,

The first thing that you should try is to perform a mass compile on the lvdsc folder of LabVIEW. This can be done by opening a VI in LabVIEW, navigating to Tools>>advanced and selecting mass compile. In the dialog window that opens, navigate to c:\program files\national instruments\labview 6.1\vi.lib\lvdsc and click the button to "select cur dir". On the next dialog, click mass compile. Hopefully this will correct the exception that you are receiving.

If not, there may be corruptions in the VI's or there is possibly duplicate copies of the VI's on your harddrive. Either way, there is a VI called lv_init which loads the DSC VI's, so if there is an issue in any of the VI's you will see that exception again.

At that point, I would recommend
performing a reinstall of the DSC module. After completing the reinstall, Launch LabVIEW before installing any of the fixes. Then download our most current fixes from our website.

This should take care of the issue. Have a good day!

Actually I 'm still unable to use DSC. I tried all Patrick suggestions but the very same error comes out.

The error involves MSVCRTL.DLL, I tried different versions of this DLL but nothing happened.

I had a huge mess when doing an update one time. I extracted the zip file to the wrong directory and had multiple copies of some of the DSC files. Just doing an uninstall from control panel only removed the files from the proper locations. I eventually had to delete the entire labview 6.1 directory and reinstall everything. Run the DOS dir command shown in the attached vi and then run the vi. It will show duplicate filenames on your computer.

I don't have any duplicate LabView and DSC files. I reinstalled everything many times but nothing has changed. What can I do else?

I looked at google and it appears that this may be a system file and not something labview installs. I would try running NORTON SYSTEMWORKS to see if there are any windows issues, and/or deleting labview directory completely and reinstalling, and reinstalling/repairing your operating system. I would also make a ghost backup of your hard drive before doing anything. Can you install labview on another computer?? What is your operating system??

We installed LabView on other computers with the same operating system (Windows 2000 5.00.2195, frow the same disk). It works good only on one of them. On one computer Image Navigator don't work, and on my computer TagEngine don't work. I think I had to reinstall operating system finally...
