exe file

Solved!

Hi,

Quick question: I just built an executable file that is supposed to run at the start up and it is not supposed to show the front panel when it is running. It has this vi properties:

-run when opened

-do not show :menu bar, scroll bar, toolbar when running, front panel when called...

The program is running fine at the startup but is displaying an horizontal bar like the one in this attachment.

Does anybody know why is this bar showing?

Thank you.

Can you set to tun minimized instead?

(I am not sure why you are explicitly hiding all these individual parts if you don't even want to show the front panel)

You might also want to look into running your application as a service. Here is a link:

You can set an executable to launch completely invisible. To do it go into the VI's custom window appearance settings and select the window runs transparently and set to the level of transparency to 100%. This makes the screen completely invisible when executing - though it will still appear in the Windows taskbar.

What I would recommend you do in your code is to set this parameter manually and then in the code, first thing set the window open state to hidden and reset the front panel transparency property to 0. That way the VI will be hidden from the taskbar as well and if you want to open it using VI server for say troubleshooting, it will be visible.
