Hi,

Note: You must install the VISA driver on the PDA in order to use VISA.

Select Start»All Programs»National Instruments»VISA to find the Driver Installation Utility for your PDA Device.

But I get this return:

"Installation of National Instrument NI-VISA 4.5.CAB was unsuccessful.
The installation file is not intended for this device."

I need help to slove this problem.

Thank you in advance.

Hello TP,

Have you tried installing VISA 4.6? This is the most updated driver and by downloading itwe will ensure 1. you have the most bug free driver and 2. your copy of the driver isn't corrupted.

Hi ColeR,

I download and installed Visa 4.6. -> restart the computer ->At my Labview mobile project -> install -> support for NI-Visa. However the smart phone still returns

"VISA450.CAB was unsuccessful. The installation file is not intentded for this device"

I check in MAX the NI-VISA version is 4.6 so why visa45 still get in the the mobile device?

How do I fix this?

Thank you for your time and helping me.

TP

I use the "Simple Bluetooth .proj" found in example.

How are you installing this driver, are you just using the setup.exe or through the project. I find that it work most reliably when you add your device as a target in the labview project, then right-click on it and select Install»Support for NI VISA. If you install this way do you still get the same error?

Hi Hueter,

I do both ways and I get same error.

The funy thing is MAX report NI-VISA 4.6

but in Window control pannel ->add or Remove program -> National Instrument Software --> NI-VISA 4.5 for Labview on Windows Mobile/CE

on the next line is NI-VISA 4.6

1 more thing during installation "Labview Mobile Module" from LABVIEW 2009 DVD it shows "Mobile Module will isntall NI-VISA 4.4 to the computer.

Do you have anything for me to move foward.

Thank you for your time and helping me.

Hi all,

Just let you know the Labview does not have any NI-Visa version that supports Windows Mobile 6.0 yet. At leats that answer from NI support engineer.

I get I have to use "Visa compability VI" instead.

Does any body use "Visa compability vi" or have some clue how to use it please point it to me.

Thank you in advance.

Hi ,

(Reference#7268592)

"Visa compabilty vi" has its own planet uses to control virtual comport on the smart phone (WM 5 )

That virual comport is been set internally smart phone to create a link with bluetooth hardware.

Today, I get a new phone with Windows Mobile 5. But it still failed to install NI-VISA (as WM 6).

I get 1 thing I can not understand:

In Windows control panel --> add/remove program -->National Instrument software has 2 NI-VISA version :

    NI-VISA 4.5 for Labview on Windows Mobile/CE

    NI-VISA 4.6

I would like to haveNI-VISA 4.6 for Labview on Windows Mobile/CE to try but I could not get it (after I do full install NI-VISA 4.6.)

Do you have anything for me to move foward.

Thank you

TP
