fase color in menu bar of LV7 installed on Windows 2000 machine

When I install LV7 on a compaq EVO machine running windows 2000 the color of the menu bar on the Labview windows is black. Other windows with the same problem: 1) "controls" window in LV7 (and probably all other popups) 2)windows of executables.
All other applications look normal except LV7.
If I upgrade to windows XP the problem disappears.
Any ideas?

The most likely culprit is outdated video drivers on the Win2K system.

Make sure you have the latest drivers from the card manufacturer and also make sure you follow the uninstall/install procedure. Some drivers cannot be simply upgraded by installing the new version. You must first completely unsinstall the old drivers first.

Using the Abort button to stop your VI is like using a tree to stop your car. It works, but there may be consequences.

Hi,

I have seen this problem once before. Could you provide more details about your video driver? What service pack is your Windows 2000 machine?

Updating the video driver had worked.
Thank you.

First it seemed we had fixed the problem.
But when the administrator logged out and I logged back in, wer had the same false color problem.
At this point, we had decided that instead of hunting down service pack etc... we will just upgrade to Windows XP.
That should certainly take care of our "colorful" problem. 🙂
