force-exponential window in FRF

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi, I am trying to find a diagram to be clear what the force-exponential window does on the FRF function. As I understand it, if force is 40% and exponential is 20%, 40% at the start of the signal is 'left alone', then the exponential part is only applied to the remaining 60%, reducing down to 20% of the highest force reading. Is this correct? Is there a diagram somewhere so I can help visualize it? Thanks.

Hi,

I did resolve this with NI but I cannot find the e-mail I thought I may have had but essentially it was the same as the picture I uploaded.  Perhaps we can request it is made a little clearer in the Labview help?

Hi James,

Thank you for posting.

Am I correct in saying that you've resolved this but would like a reminder of the details of the email sent to you? Do you recall which avenue you came through to NI from (ie service request/forum)? If you had any details of the service request number, I should be able to retrieve the details for you.

In terms of requesting to make the Help files clearer, you can create a post at the LabVIEW Idea Exchange:

Hi Shalimar,

If you can re-confirm what I have said is true or not that will be sufficient.  I will make a suggestion on the idea exchange.

Thanks,

-

James

Hi James,

I can confirm that what you've said is correct. I have also been able to find the previous service request that you've raised. To reiterate what was said in the email, the exponential window acts on what is in the force window.

I hope that's what you were looking for?
