help me understand this..please T_T

Hello,

I have one short question..

I have to take a while my colleague's job..

and I have to run a test on an ADC (analog to digital converter)

The program is as below,

 Capture.JPG

my question is From what output is the waveform signal (a red marked there) will be generating?

I am really new to this Labview..I understand that :

1. the Digital I/O lines is from PXISlot3/port0_32 , this to capture digital data out.

2. Clock signal is from PXI1 Slot2/PFIO

3. Waveform ???

Attached is the .vi file. I am using labview 8..

Please advise..

thanks in advance..

Aiman

The waveform is coming from the instrument you have in slot 2. It's some model of NI Function/Arbitrary Waveform generator. The front panel control is describing the type of waveform to generate. The graph will display the waveform that is being generated and is the signal that the ADC is supposed to convert.

Go to Help>Context Help and when you move your mouse over a function, you will get a brief description and optionally, more extended help. Hopefully, this will provide you with an understanding of the program.

Thanks dennis,

But I still cant find at which channel the signal goes out.

I have PXI 5421, 16-Bit Arbitrary Waveform Generator.

It has four channels, CH 0, CLK IN, PFI 0, PFI 1

From the front panel, the ARB Instrument Descriptor is PXI1Slot2.

From what I understand (correct me if i m wrong), the waveform signal is going to be downloaded to ARB for generation..

however is not mentioning on what channel..

Please advise..

thanks a lot..for you response..

Have you looked at any of the manuals? For example, the Getting Started Guide? Ch0 is the output of the arb. There is no need to 'mention' that in the program since it is the only waveform output.

Waveform output is from CH0.

For other channels, please refer to getting started guide Kunt mentioned above.
