i am about to start a project on heart rate monitor using labview.Dont have a clue where to start 4rm.pls help me,any help given to me will be accredited to the project.

 Basically all i need is the fundamental knowledge regwrding where to start and so on.

OK..

Start with baby steps..  You first need to define exactly what you want to achieve.  In other words, what is it that you want to implement on the heart monitor project?  A clear statement of the requirements will be the first step that will lead to a successful implementation..

Enough "politically correct" words 😉 

In other words:  What are you trying to do?  That's where you must start. 

Hints:  Are you trying to count the # of heartbeats per minute?  Are you trying to plot changes of cardiac rythm (heart rate) over time?

Not a sales pitch, by any means, but anyone and everyone who asks "how do I get started in LabVIEW?" I always point them in the direction of the book LabVIEW for Everyone. The 3rd edition just came out a few months ago. I learned LV with the first edition. And I forced myself to do it the way I normally don't do things: reading the directions! It's the best LV crash course I can think of. Start from page one. Read it, page by page. Depending on how much time you can invest you'll be writing vi's in a few hours, and you'll probably have a good idea where to start with your project within a week.

Actually, I'm picking up a copy myself.  It's a great book from a great couple of guys!  Excellent for everyone..  which explains the tiltle..

I suggest that before trying to code anything you define how your application will have to work. The first thing you'll have to dtermine is the software architecture ; you have to be sure to go for an architecture that matches your needs and will let you implement all your functions easily.
If you are complete beginner in LabVIEW, maybe you should concider attending the Basic 1 and 2 training course.

The book described above will help you anyway but I think you'll get even more profit of it if you first learn a bit of LabVIEW coding.

It's non of my business if you do get his project, but it would be a better idea to get you over this hurdle.

So let's try again...

Where are you stuck?  Break down the task into it's smallest portion and define what that is.  Don't think of the solution yet.  Don't think of LV.  Simply define what you want to accomplish.  Post it, and we'll walk together to the next step.

Basically i  want to design a sensor that monitors the heart beat ,its will display every beats per minutes.The sensor must be designed in a way that it must work with labview.

I have considered so many options regarding the sensors, was thinking either the strap sensor,chest or normal LED light that can penetrate .What do u think?
