how do I stop vi packager from launching in 2020?

Solved!
Go to solution

How annoying, VI packager 2020 now loads either with windows or labview, but can't seem to STOP IT (no option to disable it). I want it off, its not needed until I need it, and I certainly don't want it running eating resources.  Lame move jki & NI if you ask me.

So, how to stop it from loading?

I made this same comment during the VIPM beta. It can be fixed by editing C:\ProgramData\JKI\VIPM\Settings.ini and changing the following values:

[General]
Start VIPM when computer starts?="FALSE"
Start VIPM when LabVIEW starts?="FALSE"

I'm more annoyed a login is now required to download toolkits like OpenG.

Thank you!  I hated that you couldn't deselect all of them.  I honestly didn't mind that it opened with LabVIEW, but I shouldn't have to kill it when I'm done.

Thank you for the solution.

This is really annoying, especially when it doesn't close for some time after you close LabVIEW.

I think it is high time to move the packages to NIPM and abandon this "bloatware".

Best regards

Although the auto-opening feature is annoying, IMO it is hyperbole to call it "bloatware".  It is an extremely useful application with a poor design choice.

OK, maybe it is a bit much calling it bloatware.

It is a useful application when you need it, but i don't see a reason for it running everytime you start windows or LabVIEW.
