how do i download or create a task in NI-DAQmx

i am using labview 8.2. i need to use the DAQ Assistant Express VI to create a task in NI-DAQmx. i need to know how do i download the NI-DAQmx on my computer.

yea,
the thing is i was doing the example 4 in the "getting started with labview version 8.0"  book. it says that in the exercise we need to use the DAQ Assistant Express VI to create a task in NI-DAQmx. i wanted to know what is the NI-DAQmx and how do i get an access to it if i have the labview 8.2 version. i looked at the NI website and the help topics it didnot show how i can download or have access to the NI-DAQmx.

It looks like you were looking at the Getting Started with LabVIEW manual. The DAQ Assistant Express VI is available with our DAQmx drivers. Take a look at the following link for a tutorial on how to configure the DAQmx Express VI with DAQ Assistant.

The version of the driver you need will be determined in part by the hardware you are using. Take a look at the following link to see which driver supports the hardware you have. For our newer hardware, it should support DAQmx version 8.3.1. You can download the driver from our website.
