how to calculate the RMS level of a signal with its spectral representation

1. Find the length, N, of the spectral signal.

2. Convolve the magnitude of the signal with itself.

3. Take the Nth element of the resulting signal

4. Take the square root.

5. This should be the RMS value of your signal.
