When the VI fails to load you should be able to ignore/load anyways.  Once this happens you will see a broken connection to the dll on the block diagram you should be able to check the reference location by opening the dll dialog box.

I contacted Data translation help desk. Hope they can figure it out.

Also Measurement and Automation is not seeing the DT9814. I believe I need some Labview  software.

I have NI 288.2 2.71

But if I go to the hardware manager it is tagged as a VISA-DT9814.

I used the Driver wizard.
