well in my DOS prompt I get a '^G' when I press Ctrl-G and there's no bell 🙂
But your description of making up those CTRL-sequences is correct (0x07 = CTRL-G, 0x47 = G, 0x67 = g)!

From older computers (not Windows) I was used to have those Ctrl-codes work immediately...
