how to trigger a CCD camera and control a galvanometer to direct a laser source at the same time

Hi,

I have a NI USB-6251 M Series DAQ device, a Photometrics Cascade 512F CCD camera and a 2-axis galvanometer. I wish to perform image acquisition in the following manner:

I am sending 2 analog outputs to the galvanometer to direct the laser source in the x and y direction to where I want it to be, and then sending a digital output to externally trigger the CCD camera to capture the image and save it automatically. After saving, a change in the analog outputs causes the laser source to move to a new position, the camera captures the image and saves it again. This process repeats for 35 x 35 grid of source positions.

How can I synchronize the analog and digital outputs and what should I use, to perform the above operations? I don't have IMAQ so it is out of the question.

Thanks.

Chris

Hi,

I just came across your post as I am in need of the same thing! How did you get on with it? I would love a look at your labview code if you still have it? It would be very useful for my project. I hope this is ok?

Regards

I doubt you'll get a reply from Chris82 since that was his one and only post on this forum and it was a couple years ago.

If you need some advice then provide some details about your project.  What kind of XY head, what DAQ card, what camera, etc.?
