Microcontroller-encoder---transmitter------receiver----decoder---Hytek iUSBDAQ (this is my circuit)
I have an iUSBDAQ HYTEK that is connected to a receiver. The receiver is continously receiving data one byte atfer the other from a transmitter that is connected to the microcontroller.I am successfully able to read the Digital I/O byte however i am not being able to differentiate between one byte and the other.I need to connect the VT pin of the receiver to the HYTEK so that each time there is a trigger it will read the data. Can i use the trigger pin for Digital input? is there any subvi that will allow me to wait till a change of state of a certain pin so that i can upon this ask the hytek to read the write byte. The problem is it s always reading the first byte that is sent because nothing is telling the hytek that another byte has came. each time my microcontroller sends a byte via a encoder-transmitter than receiver-decoder i want to be able to read these bytes one after the other without possible overwriting cause i have 14 sensors.
i appreciate any help and thank you. any links...pointers or advice will do:)

Hi mandya14
I searched on Google and have found this website of the manufacturer of your card: http://www.hytekautomation.ca. However, I am not sure what does it have to do with LabVIEW - are you using LV drivers (http://www.hytekautomation.ca/USBDAQ_API.aspx?productId=7) to program the acquisition with your device? If yes, then I would adivce to ask Hytek for support, since the drivers must have been done by them. We can support only devices and drives done by National Instruments - please see here: http://www.ni.com/dataacquisition/
Kind regards

Thank you for replying.Yes i am using HYTEK aytomation. If you check the website there are iUSBDAQ drivers for labview and subvi for opening a session...reading from digital inputs etc. I already bought the product and it s reading perfectly fine but like i explained...there is no trigger line for DIO i think the input trigger line is for the analog only.
I have already followe ur suggestion and sent an email to the support. but still no replies. Lets hope they will reply soon.
thank you again

It looks like your best bet is to get help from the DAQ manufacturer to get the board up and running. Since they made the drivers to interface with LabVIEW. Once you can communicate with the board and do simple things , then probably taking some of the free LabVIEW tutorials would be good. BUT, YOU are the one that needs to learn what the DAQ can do, for instance how the counter works on the DAQ and so forth. Just my opinion.

Here is a quote from the Mfg web site, It really looks like where you should start.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
We provide
complete software support for our USB DAQ, including "ready to
run" test and control software, API, SDK and examples with
source code for many programming languages such as C/C++,
C#.net, LabVIEW LLB, VB etc.

You really need to follow the advice given above. The vendor has documentation and LabVIEW examples available for download as well as a support email.
One other suggestion is to skip all of those extra exclamation points and periods in your email to the vendor and instead provide some details on the example you are having problems with.
