interrupts and parallel port!

hi all,
I have to interface a dtmf decoder output to my labview application
through the parallel port. the ckt has 5 outputs, 1 of which is a
trigger which momentarily goes high when the other 4 bits gets new
data. At which time i want my labview program to interrupt at what it
was doing, read from the port and change some global varibles. How do
i get around with this?
Please be a little more explicit cuz i am not too experienced with
Labview. Thanks in anticipation

Hi Hakim,

you will not get an interrupt from printerport; the only thing you can do is to poll the paraport until the signal of interest changes - and then read the content of this port ==> change then your variables.
You will go into trouble, if you need a tough timing....
You should post something about the expected timing; the used Operating system; speed of your PC - this helps to judge if your idea will work or not.
