keithley 2000 starting channel

To Rima,

I am using the "Internal" option, so it is relevant.

To Phil,

As I said, It does the same thing if I choose, for example, channels 3 to 10:  It starts scanning from 4 to 5,6,7,8,9,10 and then finally 3. so I guess this is not the solution.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your help.
I think I'm starting to give up on this...

Hello Noam

After studying the manual, I simply don't know why the instrument is behaving that way.  My only guess now would be a flawed firmware in which case I suggest you update the firmware in the instrument if there is one available in hopes that that may fix it.  Thats all I've got.  Good luck.

Best regards, Phil.

Hi Noam,

Try capturing an NI Spy log while running your program.  What versions of the firmware and NI drivers do you have?  Are you using GPIB to communicate with the instrument?

Thanks,

Rima

Yes. I am using GPIB.
What is a Spy log?
How do I check the firmware version of Keithley?
I found 3 drivers for my device. 2 of them are working and in both I have the same problem.

Hello Noam,

To find the firmware version, simply run the "Revision Query" VI.  Compare the firmware version number you get with the one on the website for the Keithley 2000.  Browse around the website until you find the latest firmware version they have and compare it to yours.  If yours is older then I suggest you follow the instructions there for updating your firmware.

Best regards, Phil.

Hi Noam,

Here is a KnowledgeBase about using NI Spy for troubleshooting purposes.  Once you have NI Spy open, click on the blue-green button to start the capture, and then run the LabVIEW program to capture the GPIB calls.  Click on the stop button in NI Spy when the program has finished execution, then save the log and post it on the forum.

Thanks,

Rima

Hi Phil,

I found that "instrument driver revision" is revision 2.0 and firmware revision is A17/A02.
The driver is revision 2.0 A13/A02 (developed for LV 7).

On Keithley's site and on the manual I couldn't find firmware upgrade option. is it possible that this option doesn't exist?

Hello Noam,

I must agree with you as well, I myself could not find a way to update the firmware version and at last i'm out of ideas.  I wish you the best of luck in resolving this issue.  You might consider calling a technician at Keithley but don't expect much.

Best regards, Phil.
