labview 2009 half-broken (academic site license - windows 7).

Hi all,

on my new computer running Windows 7 I installed Labview 2009 (academic site license) to continue the work on my former projects.

The help system is half-broken. Has anybody had the same experience and a solution?

The symptoms:

- in the main orange screen after starting labview: Clicking on the Labview Help .... nothing happens.

- within a VI: Context help is working and I can open the help system for "special" help pages but it

seems that the main hierarchie of help is missing. If I open e.g. help on a VISA object I can only search within the VISA help pages....

- In the help menu item a general labiew help link is missing. But all other help files seem to be installed.

I have to say that installing Labview 2009 did not work straightforward on my system but now everything should be installed and updated to the latest patch (f3).

If this is of importance: I basically forgot to select a language version of LV with the first round of install and installed everything else. Only then I realized that the most

importnat thing is missing so I installed LV itself after all other components. Maybe this caused the problem?

Hi Olaf,

Since some of my colleagues running Windows7 32 as well as 64 bit machines on localiced OSs without problems I assume this is a problem due to the installation. I would suggest you to deinstall LabVIEW and start from a clean setup again. If this doesn't help we will need more information of your system setup. At this point you might think about contacting the NI Support directly, this would fasten up things.

Thanks,

Christian
