No, it doesn't. The express VIs (along with the assistants) were introduced with LabVIEW 7.0. In addition, the DAQ Assistant requires the DAQmx driver and this is not supported by any version of LabVIEW earlier than 7.0. With version 6.1, there was a DAQ Solutions button on the initial opening screen and it was available on one of the menus. Sorry, but I don't remember which one. I don't think I ever used it. I always just refered to the shipping examples.
