labview 6i wavesurfer driver

Hello,

i'm trying to access a Lecroy Wavesurfer 454 scope (w/o GPIB connection but with ethernet and USB) using Labview 6i.

i tried the solution NI-VISA 4.1 to use the visa server on the scope and it worked.

i was able to see available COM and LPT of the scope remotely with a computer but i was not able to access data and configuration of the scope.

the reason is i was not able to find a remote driver for the wavesurfer working with LV6i.

the second option i'm trying is to install LV6i on the scope and access it via a server/client process.

but again, i'm not able to find a wavesufer driver.

in fact, the issue is the lake of driver (remote or local) for the wavesurfer...

thank you if you have any clue which could help me

best regards

ronic

Hello Kronic1968,

I guess, you've already found this page : LeCroy WaveSurfer 454 Instrument Driver Network  ?

If these versions are not compatible with your version of LabVIEW, there is only one thing to do : develop your own ! I know this is a bit discouraging but this would be the only way...

Maybe you could get in touch with LeCroy and ask them if they don't have an old version, or some APIs like DLLs, ActiveX that you could you use to communicate with your instrument !

You can always get inspired by the source code of the driver, and the just develop your driver with the functions you want.

Why don't you update your version of LabVIEW ? This one is becoming really old and obsolete. With a new one, you could just do a better work with more convenience and ease of use.

Don't hesitate to answer to this thread, or open a new one if you have another question.

Have a nice day !

Regards,

Hello - Alan from LeCroy Tech Support here.    LabVIEW 6i is much older than the WaveSurfer, so we can't simply get you an older version of the driver. Maybe the driver team at NI can down-save the driver for you? You may wish to contact their tech support team if they don't reply in the discussion thread.

Best Regards,

Alan

Hello Maxime and Alan,
