labview salary

If you work in Canada, divide the equivalent salary value by 2. 😉 Well actually, by 4 because the other 1/2 goes to taxes.

Here electricians make more than Engineers (just to put things into perspective... as a comparitive measure and not to start an arguement... should I remove this line??? hummm...??? 😉 )

The range is way too vast. You're considered lucky if you are making above $40/hr. And that's regarless of years of experience, background and technical expertise. (SAD!!! Shame on you C#####!!!) 😠

Although RF Engineers are still among the leaders on the salary scale, I know a few who have >10yrs experience and are praying for a job, even in the $50/hr scale. (As I said... SAD!!!) RF-IC designers are smiling and not likely to read this thread... (lucky guys 😉 )

Electricians / plummers / carpenters can get $60/hr for doing a bad job.. $65 up for a good job.

Basically, if you put my sarcasm aside (as my wife says), then you realize that it has to do with Economics...
... supply & demand...

If your the only guy in "Leftovershoe, NY", then maybe you can charge $50765375413.99 / per hour. But it's a lonely town and nowehere to spend the $$$ 🙂

SO My recommendation is do your job well, have fun, enjoy what you do and cherish every paycheck... It matters not what title you have, but how much fun you have in life..

And whoever has the most "toys" when they die, wins!!!

Hey

Are there companies that require consulting work in Labview ? I work mostly on labview environments and wouldn't mind consulting on a part-time basis....Can you let me know some companies :)?

Of course electricians should make more money than engineers, look at all those hard sums that have to be done Smiley Happy.

In the UK graduates tend to start around 16,000 to 18,000 UK pounds, very region and qualification sensitive. Engineers attact around 24,000 plus dependng on experience relavant to the job at hand.

French engineers tend to get lower headline figures but better overall packages (holidays, healthcare) and jobs that currenlty tend to last longer than 3 months.

German engineers tend to be the best paid in Europe

American engineers (well due to legal definitions the word engineer is reserved in the US, as far as I am aware) tend to be better paid in salary terms than all the above.

Ee woud need a LabVIEW program to work out the equavalence of te benifts packages

Of course all this is just my opinion......

Maximus,

Do you keep track of this thread?

If so, are you still looking? and where are you "geographically" located?

Yeah, I am looking to do partime consulting/programming in LabVIEW as long as there is no  conflict of interest.

Thanks for the reply, Maximus.

I will keep you in mind if something (that can be done remotely) comes up.

I occasionally come accross small contracts that require part-time work.  it's always good to know who's available.

Let me just add that in Switzerland LabVIEW developper earn easily 20% (for the same experience level) more than in France for instance.
Heathcare system is amost the same, of course there some dark sides, as you said, less vacations (4 weeks a year in switzerland, at least 6 in France).

We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.
